| DESIGN NAME: Acorn Leisure Chair PRIMARY FUNCTION: Multipurpose INSPIRATION: The design inspiration obtained from the acorn which combines the two materials of solid wood and metal to design a multifunctional leisure seat. The seat armrests and line of backrest meet the needs of the comfort of sitting, allowing the seat to present diverse functions to meet the needs of modern people relaxation in their spare time. UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: We get inspired in the shape of an acorn, and designed according to the human spine form of multi-function casual seating. Outline the bottom with the line, dense and orderly, reflecting the most essential peaceful situation and creating a mood of eternal, tranquility for the living space. There is a larger space at the bottom of the seat, with a wide range of functions such as storage, gathering, and let your pets sleep in a comfortable nap. OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: The overall framework is all made of solid wood from the log cutting to the production completed, and then decorated with metal line, strong and beautiful. Sitting on a chair, the seat back fits the person back shape, which can help people to make a correct sitting posture, which is suitable for entertainment, reading and other activities. PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION: The design project began in January 2019 in Shenyang, was completed in June 2019, and was exhibited in the art museum of Shenyang Lu Xun Academy of Fine Arts in June 2019. PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: The wood part adopts modern numerical control technology. It is formed by machine cutting and manual grinding. The metal bending is processed by manual heating. Finally, the parts are assembled to complete the seat production. SPECIFICATIONS / TECHNICAL PROPERTIES: 740mmx750mmx640mm, Wood part is shaped CNC machining technology, hand-molded metal part, the two parts can be quickly disassembled. Because of the need of transport demolition, we use high-quality hardware connection to create a beautiful line and solid structure of furniture. TAGS: Acorn, Wood, Metal, Multifunctional RESEARCH ABSTRACT: The design incorporates the shape of the acorn into the design. The lines are rounded curve, and the material is simple and modest. On the basis of meeting the product functions, it does not lose its beauty. The seat structure is solid and stable, the color contrasts obviously, and the maneuverability of the production is strong. CHALLENGE: How to match the two materials of solid wood and metal to show the feeling of oak fruit, satisfying the basic principles of ergonomics is the biggest challenge in design.
