| DESIGN NAME: Skein PRIMARY FUNCTION: Ring INSPIRATION: my source of inspiration was thinking of a skein! I was thinking about its complexity ,looseness , and special feature. It can release your mind from stiffness and after thinking about it more and more you will lose your consciousness among the spirals! UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: this ring is available in both gold and silver materials and multiple sizes of gem stones. the thing that makes this work different from others is the special shape of it. the complexity and harmony between the wires have made a beautiful feature. the special colour of metal and gem stones cause a high contrast that makes the stones more shiny and brilliant. OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: this ring can be producted by industrial casting method and also it can be either a hand made production. PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION: this project started in january 2019 and finished in february 2019 in Tehran Iran. |
PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: this jewelry ring can be made of gold or platinuim ( or any other precious metal depends on customers’ taste ) and gem stones. I prefered the flush setting technique to show the gems more and also to simplify whole design. this design is made with MATRIX 8 plugin.the gem stones that are supported with gallery rales also strengthen whole structure of design. SPECIFICATIONS / TECHNICAL PROPERTIES: the lenth (height) is 31/5 mm the width is 23/5 mm the diameters of wires are different in different parts, but the average diameter is 1/6. the diameter of gems is between 1/3 to 2/5 mm. TAGS: jewelry ring, ring, dome ring, flush setting, burnish setting, gipsy setting, skein, labyrinth, spiral RESEARCH ABSTRACT: the most important thing for me was finding the best shape of softness and looseness in the ring. I searched multiple shapes of a yarn. Yarn is packaged in different forms: balls, skeins and hanks. finally I found the skein shape more similar to my idea. CHALLENGE: the biggest challenge in this project was maintaining full harmony between all curves in all parts of the ring and additional imaginative attemp to achieve the most beautiful structure of a loose skein. In addition, it brings a sense of adventure to its users. NAME: Nasim Hosseiny PROFILE: Nasim Hosseiny is a jewelry designer in Iran who currently lives in Tehran. She was born in 1985 in Bandar Abbas Iran. In 2003 she started studing dentistry and in 2015 she graduated as a specialist in Oral and Maxillofacial diseases.. at the age of 33 she was interested in jewelry designing. The way that you can create beauty and also you can enjoy your creature bit by bit! Now it is a couple of months she is working on designing special features and her biggest attemp is creating designs that are feeded with the wild soul of nature! |
