| DESIGN NAME: Ocean One PRIMARY FUNCTION: Sale Center INSPIRATION: The interior space of Ocean One is small, through the wall split design technique, and the use of glass curtain wall, will into indoor, outdoor landscape through the outspread enlarge the visual effect on the vision, at the height of the indoor and outdoor. with space between each part of the glass curtain wall and ground of building. The water from outside through the glass curtain wall to the indoor pool, indoor bridge as a linking connects to the outdoor landscape. UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: Ocean One, which located in Shanghai, is a renovation project. It was originally a public space in a residential community and is now being converted into a showroom to cater to customers. The designer retains the original structure and layer height, remakes the outer skin, pays attention to the integration of indoor and landscape in the design process, tries to integrate the building and interior space into the surrounding environment. OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: In this project, the designer wants to break the boundary between the inside and outside of the room. Therefore, the large area of glass curtain wall and rimless glass are utilized to achieve the visually unjointed and permeable feeling. PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION: It is exhibited in shanghai ,China in 2017. |
PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: Using glass as the main material of the exterior facade, visually break the boundary inside and outside,bring a clear visual experience to the person. SPECIFICATIONS / TECHNICAL PROPERTIES: The project has 600 square meters. TAGS: Environment, glass, interior, boundaries RESEARCH ABSTRACT: Break the indoor and outdoor boundaries Using glass as the main material of the exterior facade, visually break the boundary inside and outside; bring a clear visual experience to the person. Combination of landscape and interior design With space between each part of the glass curtain wall and ground of building. The water from outside through the glass curtain wall to the indoor pool, indoor bridge as a linking connects to the outdoor landscape, completed the indoor and outdoor space landscape cross and penetration. CHALLENGE: As the pool is extended into the inside, proper techniques are required for waterproof treatment and water cycling system.Interior, architecture and landscape are integrated rather than separated. So it is not necessary to be like conventional practice which needs three companies to make 3 individual designs for each part.
