| DESIGN NAME: Yinmachuan by the Great Wall PRIMARY FUNCTION: Residential House INSPIRATION: At that time, Kung Fu Panda3 was on hot line, of which the dreamy and dramatic ink paiting ambience, the traditional Chinese architecture, lantern, bamboo hat, mantle and other Eastern elements artistically and exquisitely shown in Kung Fu Panda series represent the very traditional Chinese culture in the eyes of foreigner. UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: The application of the dialogue between old and new embodying the ancient Eastern culture shows Chinese people’s confidence on lifestyle and aesthetic appreciation, vitalizes the space and endows the space rich and deep culture. The modern design language applied in the project, the artful play of peony, blue and white porcelain, traditional embroidery, batik fabrics, bamboo weaved pendant lamp and so on, demonstrates the deeply-embedded mighty life in real sense. OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: In respect of Yinma Valley by the Great Wall, facing the constant and profound historical accumulation, certain actions are requested to recall the memory of field and culture embedded in the greatest architectural works in the history of human civilization. The application of the dialogue between old and new embodying the ancient Eastern culture shows Chinese people’s confidence on lifestyle and aesthetic appreciation, vitalizes the space and endows the space rich and deep culture. PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: you can not only find the Rongjiang hand made Aizen fabrics, the natural tree fossil slices, and natural travertines, but also the most advanced direct digital printing technology. blue and white porcelain, traditional embroidery, batik fabrics, bamboo weaved pendant lamp and so on. SPECIFICATIONS / TECHNICAL PROPERTIES: Project area: 120 sqm TAGS: Kelly Lin, Bluemoon Design,Yinmachuan, FF&E design RESEARCH ABSTRACT: under the high-speed economic development, the element of “faith”is sheerly left behind while creating “beauty”in FFE design, which causes the missing or obscuring of the key spiritual structure behind design, hence caring for the elite class of their needs for aesthetic appreciation often called for becomes a anxious joke. Facing such a overwhelmingly chaotic status quo of design industry, we wish to start a trip of return, an exploration of faith. CHALLENGE: the design will be not only catering for the taste of Chinese elite class but also the aesthetic appreciation of the whole world. Instead of just superficially playing with some utensils, they will get rid of the bondage of cultural difference and start from the level of faith, devotedly exploring the fusion point of western and eastern culture to reappear the urgently requested Chinese context.
