| DESIGN NAME: CasaDigi PRIMARY FUNCTION: Home Automation INSPIRATION: Today homes are equipped with multiple smart technologies starting from smart lights, intelligent thermostats to high end home theater devices. It is a challenge for a home user to deal with the complex automated systems . The complexity added by these systems in daily lives outweighs the convenience they promise. Casadigi is a result of deep appreciation of how thing work so as to make them simple to be used by the granny in the house. The elegant and intuitive design is created to drive broad adoption of smart home technologies. The aim is to make all the technologies disappear and give customer experience of driving a porsche. UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: CasaDigi is one of the most versatile products in the home automation space. It integrates to most of the popular systems. In the domotics space it integrates to brands like Lutron, ABB, Berker, Jung, Philips Dynalite, Clipsal, Schneider. CasaDigi integrates with most of the popular air conditioning systems from Daikin, Samsung, Mitsubishi, Toshiba. Televisions from B&O, Sony, Samsung, LG, Panasonic etc all work with CasaDigi with ease. Besides this there are a whole lot of Audio systems from B&O, Bose, Denon, Marantz that work in tandem with CasaDigi. The Buyer has wide choice of brands to choose from all very different and talk different languages. CasaDigi brings them onto its innovative platform and presents to its user an interface that is incerdibly simple with styling that matches the lifestyle. OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: CasaDigi is designed for the entire house. The user can switch between the rooms and control the systems installed in the other room. The controls are presented in the most intutive manner. CasaDigi's user interface works on the science of user's intent. The user is never bothered to learn to use a system, CasaDigi manages it all for the user. PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION: CasaDigi's design team is based out of India and Singapore. The design team is in Singapore while the technology team is in India. It took about 6 months from concept to completion. CasaDigi in its new Avatar is launched in 2016 |
PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: CasaDigi is designed by the team that has designed DigiValet - the world leader in Guest Room Solutions for Luxury Hotels. The team has had the priviledge of working with some of iconic designer hotels like The Armani, Corinthia, The Torch, The Oberoi, SO Sofitel, ITC Hotels - The Luxury Collection. When the team looked upon the products that were being offered for the automation of homes for the guests staying at these hotels, the team realised a potential, an urgent need to bring about a change. The mission was simple - simple and stylish. The simplicity is a result of the state of the art technology and brilliant software code which the user never sees. SPECIFICATIONS / TECHNICAL PROPERTIES: CasaDigi is a highly scalable solution. From a single room (like a home theatre) to a 50 rooms palace CasaDigi serves both the needs while maintaining its simplicity. It relies on indutrsy standards. Cabling is very simple - Cat6 cable is all that is needed. The next version of CasaDigi would work even with legacy infrastructure with no need for cabling. TAGS: Home Automation, Lighting Controls, Domotics, Internet of Things, Home Theatre, Video Server, Multizone Music, App RESEARCH ABSTRACT: Home Theatres is everyone'e cherishid dream. Plush Recliners, Immersive Sound experience, life like Video projection are the building blocks. The user expereince takes a hit when the user has to juggle between many remotes or use the complicated tablet interface and also understand how to make the sophisticated audio & video system work. CasaDigi team saw the users struggle having spent a fortune over their dream home theatre. Bringing the expereinced team that has implemented solutions at some of the best hotels and the design team a challenge was thrown to uncomplicate the home automation, home theatre experience. Countless nights were spent over creating and scarpping the ideas, concepts. What came out of the untiring efforts is now available to users by the name of CasaDigi. CHALLENGE: Programming the home automation solutions has been like designing a rocket. Lengthy and complicated codes that run into thousands of lines. A code that only the programmer himself can decifer which means when the programmer is not available the fix, patches, upgrades is nearly impossible. CasaDigi brought a whole new approach to this by doing away completely with programming. It is simple drag and drop. It is a leapfrog jump from typewriter to an iPhone. Behind the curtains is super intelligent software at work which keep the complexity completely masked to the installer. It auto configures the system using the in built artificial intelligence and let the installer give just the right inoputs to customise the CasaDigi expereince to the buyers needs.
