| DESIGN NAME: ideapad Y700 PRIMARY FUNCTION: Laptop INSPIRATION: The design of Y700 is inspired by sports car. Gaming players could get the truly experience of high performance and speed from sports car while using Y700 in games. The red backlight keyboard and speaker mesh just like an inner energy that will break out at any time. UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: Y700 is designed for the gaming enthusiasts and consumers who need high performance PC. It has high resolution screen, so whether watching movies, playing games, editing videos, it’s good enough for you. The shell is made of aluminum with cross hairline. It has strong wire resistance and the rubber inside feel just like skin. It is also fingerprint resistant and easy to clean. A new cooling system raises hinge, so the hot air could be blow out of the machine through the double fans. The combination of red light and black metal feels like an enormous energy coming out of a volcano. OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: Y700 inherits the design language from Lenovo family, pays attention to the consistent CMF design of top and the button shell. Y700 has the most ergonomic design on keyboard, which is in accordance with the finger shape and keyboard cap, providing quiet and accurate keyboard experience. Keyboard backlight is designed into 3 levels, consumer can switch the brightness smoothly. To improve the performance of heat spreading, we used pure copper to eliminate the heat. PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: The shell of Y700 is made of metal. To prevent scratches caused by sharp metal edge, we used plastic to cover the border. Part of Y700 was made from 30% degradable plastic. The aluminum shell can also be recycled. The panel of Y700 is made from glass without mercury. Compared with other products, we have reduced the need to paint the parts, the whole metal shell are just made from two pieces of recycling aluminum. SPECIFICATIONS / TECHNICAL PROPERTIES: We studied the structure of the sports car airflow design in heating system, and applied it into Y700. Inhale cold air from the front and bottom side, then blow the heat out from the rear of the panel with two fans. There is a rubber foot at the bottom of laptop which can block out the heat.
