| DESIGN NAME: Chaaylee PRIMARY FUNCTION: Hand Bag INSPIRATION: This Bag inspired by common forms and spaces in minimal modern architecture. Spaces created through combination and continuation of simple surfaces and elements which apart from being visually independent, while keeping their unity. Moving the surfaces from the common borders, creates a different visual quality intensified by the shadows created. In this project, the side surfaces have been replaced by front ones. Among other considerations in this project, has been the attempt to maintain the basic forms in order to reach the maximum internal capacity. Using leathers with old appearance and antique elements on them has been an attempt to reduce and balance its industrial modern spirit. UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: This product is Handmade and has been designed for low-volume and limited production. It is made by natural premium Iranian leather which means it lives longer. This bag is truly strong but significantly light in terms of weight. In fact the structure keeps the form tight as well. It can be customized by the consumers.This product has been achieved through persistent contemplation of old traditions along with innovation and originality. OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: as a container this bag has two handle to carry by hand and to put on the shoulder . to keep stuff inside the bag it has a zippered closure system which can be open/close by two fingers.the straps are resizable to fit users desire. PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION: The Project Started in April 2015 in Tehran and finished in May 2015 |
PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: All the Process from creating patterns, cutting and preparation of bag parts is done by hand. the stitching process is done by sewing machine and the finishing process is done by hand tools . SPECIFICATIONS / TECHNICAL PROPERTIES: Type : Handbag Dimensions : 34x22x18cm Material : Premium Bullhide Leather Weight : 780gr TAGS: dokmeh,design,studio RESEARCH ABSTRACT: This bag is a part of a project called "the deep series". The research phase started by visual research, mostly in contemporary architectural forms and spaces through rapid paper models and afterwards different types of materials, patterns and assembling techniques were tested to achieve the desired structure. CHALLENGE: The main challenges in this project were maintaining the simplicity of the design, keeping the bag light and at the same time firm, and being functional while having a unique style.
