| DESIGN NAME: Herno PRIMARY FUNCTION: Urban Lighting INSPIRATION: Herno is an expression in traditional architecture which that was used to the house holes ceiling for lightening. For designing Hernos it has been inspired. The loops created on top of the product for lightening that has been embedded recalling of those Hernos, which their duties was to provide environment lightening. Moreover Azadi tower as identity element of Tehran has been the inspirational source for designing form. UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: Unique property this product has been designed by based considered context. Usage of familiar form based on considered context, in form designing as well as considering traditional and local concept coincident by social target is proposed as main feature of this product. In external loop surface the LEDs embedded in order to lightening environment as exposing directly while internal loop surface LEDs provided which is responsible for creating elegant and soft light with variety of color spectrum. When users sitting on bench near urban light or stopping by the internal light loop starting to turn on and by passing time slowly the color based on users pause from primary cold color will change to warm color whilst intensity of external light loop will decline. In addition to this sense, knowing people of spent time by making atmosphere warmer and more mutual will provide an enjoyable experience for people. OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: Function of this light in normal condition is that external lighting are turned on responsible for lightening environment exposing directly, if a user stay by near light or sits near bench, internal lights will be turn on and the light of it which is primary cold color standing continuously near light will change to warm color. At the same time by this incident intensity of external LEDs will reduce so that intend light will be effective on atmosphere so that it could provide experimental atmosphere. PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: In order to design body of this product, Aluminum has been used that usually for making urban light.in this product two kind of LEDs have been used. In internal loop surface about 24 power LED(1W) has been utilized as well as lenses for preventing loosing light and better light focus. Besides, in internal light loop surface RGB ribbon LEDs has been used as well as using mat polycarbonate as diffuser for uniform behind light. Moreover, the case embedded for keeping drivers and human detection sensor electronic equipment in below leg which by cable passed through legs connected to LEDs. SPECIFICATIONS / TECHNICAL PROPERTIES: Width 520mm x Depth 500mm x Height 3000mm TAGS: urban lighting, enjoyable experience, visual coordination, city identity element, people interaction RESEARCH ABSTRACT: Designing this product which its target reaching to urban light based on considered context for it, has been done in three phases. In first phase after exploring the issue, required information gathered. This information including content historical background check, city identity element, people interaction with urban lighting, checking existed sample and technical information about lights. In second phase ideation based on gained information from first phase made and in third phase these ideas were considered which finally lead to last choice. CHALLENGE: The challenge of designing this product was produced product in addition to visual coordination with considered city environment while doing its primary function which is to lightening city environment, provide enjoyable experience for citizens.
