Tang Chia-Hao, the lead designer of the winning work Surrounded explains “"To see a thousand miles, to climb higher" said by Wang Zhizhi, a Chinese poet in Tang Dynasty.This design is located in the Yilan Plain, Taiwan, surrounded by beautiful mountains. To avoid other buildings blocking the beauty of the mountains, the design aimed to reveal a mountains shaped screen which people could see the overview. As the uplifting of different floors, the style changes to correspond to the scene which mountaineers see at different heights.
