Jaco Pan, the creative mind behind the winning work #24 Cathay Restaurant explains “This two storey restaurant was transformed from a mint during the period of National Revolution of China two centuries ago. The existing compound has several disadvantages, such as lack of original drawings, backlight and so on. In that case, the architect renovated the facade in condition of keeping the intact structure. In the design of interiors, marbles, textured wood and furniture, transparent fabric are used to lessen the industrial sense generated by the old architecture.
