Zach Raven, the creator of the award winning jewelry design work Model 1 says “The M1 timepiece uses innovative dual-layered discs which are located directly under the back-painted sapphire crystal to display time and date. By positioning the discs directly under the edge-to-edge crystal, the M1 uses the optical properties of sapphire to create the illusion the time is displayed right on the surface of the crystal. In todays world of ubiquitous technology, a watch is worn more for fashion than utility.
