Elena Kapompasopoulou, the designer of the award winning jewelry design work Tonos says “Tonos is a limited edition handmade ring consisted of two materials with diverse properties. A 14 karat gold cylindrical core interlocks with an external layer of grey concrete. Tonos is a punctuation mark specifying the correct pronunciation of a word. Driven by the actual use in Modern Greek language, the name is used in a metaphoric way. The projected segment of the gold core is intentionally employed to emphasize the transition of the materials and balances the shiny and matt side of the object.
