Irene Lim, the lead designer of the winning furniture design Yan explains “Kid are always a good source of inspiration. Here is how the Yan stool was being inspired by them and created. 'Yan' is meaning eye in Chinese. Inspired by kids’ perspective, Yan stool was created to express how wonderful and colorful the world is through a kid’s eyes. The shape of the stool is derived from the cross section of the eye.
