Jianshi Wu, the lead designer of the winning work Cedar Hill Loop explains “The objective is to create a multi-usage pavilion in Central Park, New York that can host a broad range of daytime and nocturnal activities. The Cedar Hill Loop is an underground circular pavilion that follows the existing terrain of the 30-feet tall Cedar Hill (an east-facing slope of mideast Central Park), which is able to elevate and rotate itself to create unique space conditions that are suitable for a wide variety of activities in different scales.
