A' International Design Award and Competition is delighted to share that the design Hugsy by Jiachun Du, Sylvie Claes, Lisa Malou Smits and Miguel Cabral Guerra has been honored with the famous A' Design Award in Baby, Kids' and Children's Products Design Category highlighted as the winner by the transnational jury members of the A' Design Awards & Competitions within a great number of nominated projects.

Regarding Hugsy

Jiachun, the lead designer of the winning design Hugsy explains “Hugsy is a swaddling blanket, made for use in the neonatal intensive care unit, that simulates and facilitates Kangaroo Mother Care. It reduces the stress experienced by babies during transfer from the incubator to the KMC sessions and back. Hugsy also aids in holding the baby in place on the mother’s chest during a KMC session for more comfort.
