Daisuke Nagatomo and Minnie Jan, the creative mind behind the winning lighting design work Lightscape Pavilion explains “Treasure Hill in Taipei is an old settlement with a vision of an artist compound. The contrast between the new and the old, villagers and the artists, creates an interesting dialogue, which can be experience by the visitors. Situated at the highest point of Treasure Hill, the Lightscape Pavilion becomes a focal point that can be seen from far away. The design concept is inspired by the traditional Chinese lantern, which is made with bamboo and paper.
