A' International Design Award and Competition is pleased to announce that the project Nidus by Carolina Falcão Duarte has been announced as a laureate of the famed Bronze A' Design Award in Medical Devices and Medical Equipment Design Category picked as the winner by the international judging committee of the A' Design Awards & Competitions within a great number of submitted works.

Concerning Nidus

Carolina Falcão Duarte, the lead designer of the winning work Nidus explains “Nidus is a concept bed for children treated at hospitals. The project aims to present a design consistent with humanitarian policies and efforts carried out in pediatric wards in Brazil´s public hospitals, making the hospitalization experience less traumatic for children. Inside hospitals, where the ward space is shared with other patients, kids are limited to bed borders, their personal space, almost like their “bedroom”.
