Javier Olmeda Raya, the lead designer of the winning project Dendrone explains “A coffee table isn't just for holding books and vases. Dendrone is a table in which complex geometries and digital fabrication technologies marry with simple materials to form a unique conversation piece. The name derives from its conception: dendrites found in nerve cells are captured trying to reach out and connect.
