Laboratory for Explorative Architecture & Design Ltd. (LEAD), the creative mind behind the winning project Golden Moon explains “The Golden Moon is a temporary architectural structure that explores how Hong Kong’s unique building traditions and craftsmanship can be combined with contemporary design techniques in the creation of a highly expressive and captivating popular public event space. It is the winning entry for the 2012 Lantern Wonderland design competition which was organised for the Mid-Autumn Festival to promote Hong Kong as Asia’s World City.
