Stella Pieri & Pieros Pieris, the lead designer of the winning project Volcanic explains “The holiday retreat is located northeast of Santorin in an area characterised by the active underwater volcano.The design tries to capture the history and the strong elements of natural decomposition of the landscape by the thick layers of volcanic lava and the intensity of the strong winds and to redefine the characteristics of the traditional architecture through a modern vocabulary.
