Lam Wai Ming, the creative mind behind the winning project 780 Tianshan Road, Shanghai explains “In this 40-year-old building, original elements like window frames and staircase handles are kept and repainted to let the pale traces of time quietly tell the story. The client specializes in underground utility detection services. The company philosophy is “seeing the invisible”, so a modern and minimal central corridor is specially designed to neatly conceal the rooms yet subtly reveal their doors.
