Yoojin Jang, the lead designer of the winning work Oksoo Elementary explains “The Oksoo Elementary School Library, a public elementary school, is an old library that was built more than 30 years ago. The school wanted a bright, playground-like library that deviates from the old and outdated look. In order to overcome the stuffiness of the low ceiling, it was remade into an exposed ceiling. In the playground-like library space, the boundaries between playing and reading are ambiguous.
