Winner Design: Dongyu Logistics

Simon Cheng, the lead designer of the winning project Dongyu Logistics explains “The project is a mixed-use building office lobby in Dongyu Logistics Park in Yiwu, Zhejiang, China. Inspiration is drawn from the bar code and container in the logistics industry. The original four isolated columns are adjusted and integrated into the whole structure. Various aisles are created. The alumina plates weaken the heaviness of the columns, making the space high-tech. Different textures of marble and aluminum metal overlap and collide to make the space more layered.
