Álvaro Wolmer, the lead designer of the winning project Cadeira explains “This piece of furniture is more than a chair, it's also a collection of samples of 34 wooden species, from Brazil and all over the world; it's a chair one can learn about the diversity of this natural resource. The chair itself answers a question that the designer has been frequently asked in the last 35 years: Which wood is this?
