Yuji Iida, the lead designer of the winning work Nagomi explains “The new welfare facilities was designed to meet the needs of a growing workforce. The word Nagomi means to ease the mind in Japanese. The new welfare facilities was designed to provide a more relaxed atmosphere. The design of the new building is based on the concept of a curved building with a sloping roof. We proposed a large space with a characteristic sloping roof and curved building.
