About Petit Duc

Julien Hac, the creative mind behind the winning work Petit Duc explains “The desire to design and produce a bench is based on two values: sharing and responsibility. Sharing a convivial moment with family, friends or colleagues during a meal is a simple act, but essential to maintain cohesion. The design of this bench is fair, it allows to highlight a local material. The material used is sandstone schistose also called Moellons, which is unique in the world. This stone is mainly used in Belgian architecture. Valuing the moellons was an obvious choice and a challenge for all team members.
