Tomomi Omachi, the designer of the award winning design Nestled in the Green says “Wrapped by the surrounding nature, this house nestles closely within the environment in which it stands. Located in Tajiri-cho, Fukuyama, Japan, the neighboring buildings, apartments, and houses form this typical Japanese residential area. However, with small mountains stretching northward and the Seto Inland Sea to the south, one realizes this town is also surrounded by nature. Built on the plot of an former European-style vacation home, the house was demolished by the owner but the garden was tended to ever since.
