Yung-Hsi Peng, Pei-Chi Hung, Parn Shyr, the lead designer of the winning project Oriental Zen explains “Ingeniously utilized structure and landscape construction techniques and paired them with lighting coordination so that light and shadow are interwoven, achieving a Zen visual effect. The designer worked with the original structure of the two-story building and used minimalistic design techniques to cleverly resolve the irregularities and structural restrictions that existed in the space, further transforming defects into advantages, and creating a transparent and open artistic space.
