Eitaro Satake Unveils Villa A: A Sculptural Masterpiece
Eitaro Satake, the renowned architect behind STAR, has unveiled Villa A, a stunning weekend house that overlooks the Pacific Ocean near the town of Hayama, Japan. The design, completed in September 2023, is a sculptural form inspired by the surrounding natural environment, featuring a large, vaulted roof and arches that evoke the image of the white, rippling sea.

The villa's unique feature lies in its wooden structure, reminiscent of yachts and bridges, which contributes to a sense of expansiveness within the interior space. The roof, made of cross-laminated timber (CLT), required precise planning and construction techniques to implement, adding to the villa's distinctive character.

With a site area of 770 sqm and a total floor area of 385 sqm, Villa A offers a resort-like experience, perfectly suited for a laid-back lifestyle and providing a deep connection to the blue waters at its doorstep.
