Wenzhou Yongjiang Sales Center: A Unique Cultural Architecture Project by Qun Wen

Crystal Glass Polyhedron Structure: A Unique Architectural Marvel
The Wenzhou Yongjiang Sales Center, designed by Qun Wen and the design team, stands as a testament to innovative architectural design. Situated on the edge of a 30-meter cliff overlooking the Yangtze River, the project spans 3000 square meters and features a landscape elevator, an experience hall, and a view tower, offering a unique and challenging design opportunity.

The main structure of the building is a glass polyhedron, with discrete glass volumes formed according to their functions. The roof, supported by stone pillars, adopts a polyline-shaped architectural vocabulary, creating a rich, dynamic space with numerous gaps extruded by the stone pillars and the glass polyhedron.

The landscape elevator, a key feature of the project, connects the height difference of the cliff, providing visitors with a unique experience while ensuring the building's integration with the natural environment.

In order to better appreciate the river view and the urban landscape of Wanzhou, the design adds the view tower, which protrudes beyond the cliff body, offering a wider field of vision. The design techniques of framing and borrowing in garden design are utilized to create a different viewing effect, enhancing the overall experience for visitors.

This exceptional project was completed in 2021 in Chongqing, China, and was awarded the Bronze A' Design Award in 2024, recognizing its outstanding and creatively ingenious design that authenticates experience and resourcefulness.
