This chair draws inspiration from the Japanese dessert snack, dango, and features a unique design that allows it to convert into a lounge chair. The project commenced in September 2023 in Toronto, and the prototype was manufactured in Jakarta, Indonesia. The chair is designed to cater to the needs of smaller homes or apartments, offering a versatile seating solution for both indoor and outdoor use.

The Dango chair is a testament to Voon's commitment to sustainability, as it is constructed using eco-friendly materials such as urecel quick dry foam, sustainable fabrics, and vegan leather. The lightweight aluminum frame is powder-coated and designed for both durability and portability. The chair's unique folding mechanism allows it to be easily stored and shipped in a flat pack, making it an ideal choice for modern living spaces.

One of the most challenging technical aspects of the design was ensuring that the chair's angles in both the dining and lounge positions were comfortable and functional with a single ratchet. The team overcame this challenge through extensive prototyping and testing, resulting in a chair that seamlessly transitions between its different configurations. Additionally, the use of eco-friendly foam and fabrics presented logistical challenges, which were effectively addressed to maintain the production timeline and costs.
