Elegant and Heritage-Infused Wine Labels
Giovanni Murgia's Cala di Seta 932 wine labels encapsulate the rich history of the 1932 cooperative winery in Sardinia, where the sea meets the soul. Crafted with Avery Dennison Fasson Cotton paper, the labels feature debossing and glossy paint, evoking the shimmering sea. The design, with metallic Pantone colors and a heraldic-like element, narrates the winery's story in a modern yet classic manner.
The 90mm x 136mm labels exude elegance and tradition, incorporating debossing, Braille, and hot foil gold printing techniques. Murgia's design team, along with Etichettificio Antoniano and photographer Diego Attene, brought this project to life in Sassari from February to April 2023.
This award-winning design, recipient of the Bronze A' Design Award in 2024, beautifully balances innovation and tradition, reflecting the winery's 90-year legacy. The labels not only convey prestige but also immerse the beholder in the winery's captivating narrative, making each bottle a testament to the community's enduring history and commitment to winemaking excellence.
