Introduction
The A' Medical Devices and Medical Equipment Design Competition is a high level design competition open to both concept stage and realized products by professional designers and product engineerings, design companies, engineering agencies, and producers and manufacturers of these goods worldwide.
Submitted entries are awarded in five main sub-categories: Medical Equipment Design Award, High-Tech Medical Devices Design Award, Re-Enable Design Award for Differently Abled Population and finally Medical Goods Design Award.
The A' Design Award for Medical Devices and Medical Equipment is not just an award, it is the indicator of quality and perfection in design, the award is recognized worldwide and takes the attention of design oriented companies, professionals and interest groups. The winners of the A' Medical Devices and Medical Equipment Award are provided extensive and exclusive marketing and communication services to promote the success of winning the A' Award. The Jury is composed of both Academic and Professional participants worldwide, such as chief executive officers or head designers of companies and faculty heads or professors. In addition, the A' Award features the focus group jury, which is composed of ordinary people to normalize the scoring by eliminating the bias on aesthetics and form sections, the votes of Professional, Academic and the Focus Group are weighted to determine the final result.

Eligibility
Both concept designs and finished products can be submitted, however, only and only legally approved finished products are eligible for the award; non-patented, patent pending, approval pending products are not eligible. Research equipment and instruments are not restricted, any type of equipment or instrument can be submitted. For medical award category, please note that this competition is open to devices, equipment and tools only, the competition is not open to products such as medicines or drugs; any products that fall into these categories, administrated or unadministrated such as drugs are not accepted to the competition. In addition to supplements for diet, beauty etc are not accepted. |
What to Present?
To participate in the A' Medical Devices and Medical Equipment Award, you need to submit high resolution images of your equipment, along with technical specifications and performance indicators as a pdf-file. In the pdf description, please clearly state why your product is better or more innovative when compared to other products in the market; for example if your medical product is more effective for diagnosis provide proofs, if your laboratory device costs cheaper to produce and is sold at a cheaper price this is also relevant as the decrease in costs helps society etc.
No Further Fees
Unlike some other design awards and competitions, you are not obliged to make any further fees for winning the award and everything listed in the winners benefits will be provided free of charge.
Awarding Criteria
The Medical Devices and Medical Equipment Design entries are judged by our criteria that checks five key points: 1: Innovation Content (Performance Improvements when compared to other products in the market; efficiency in measuring, diagnosis and production costs as indicated by the manufacturer or producer - we do not run the tests ourselves, participants are responsible for the truthness of their submissions). 2. Ergonomics (design and engineering features that help the end users to feel more comfort, safety etc, participants must supply ergonomics test reports when available, we will not test the products ourselves). 3. Social Responsibility (usage of environment friendly materials, selling the product cheaper than the competitors thus creating availability etc). 4. Aesthetical Aspects (how beautiful and appealing your product is) 5. Packaging Design and Product Documentation
