Amr Ibrahim Mousa
FS: Could you please tell us a bit about your design background and education?
AI: Amr Ibrahim Mousa is an award-winning multidisciplinary designer, architect, and visual artist based in Milan, Italy. Amr received his double bachelor's degree in "Architecture Engineering" from Greenwich University, the UK, and Modern Science and Arts University, Egypt. and a master's degree in "Architecture and Urban Design" from Politecnico Di Milano.

FS: What motivates you to design in general, why did you become a designer?
AI: I've always found myself interested in creating. If not design and architecture, I would be in the film industry, music, or even literature.

FS: Did you choose to become a designer, or you were forced to become one?
AI: The idea itself of making and creating something has always been my biggest passion. That's how I became a designer.

FS: What do you design, what type of designs do you wish to design more of?
AI: I create award-winning designs, architecture, strong brand identities, and innovative products.

FS: What should young designers do to become a design legend like you?
AI: The desire to create something with lasting value is what I'm trying to do in every design project.

FS: What distinguishes between a good designer and a great designer?
AI: The attention to detail.

FS: What makes a good design a really good design, how do you evaluate good design?
AI: To create the most suitable design solution with the highest consideration of its function and aesthetic values to give it the possibility of becoming timeless.

FS: What is the value of good design? Why should everyone invest in good design?
AI: Bad design costs you even more as you lose the trust of your user.

FS: What would you design and who would you design for if you had the time?
AI: I like being a design generalist, which has made me a more confident and adaptable designer. I don't mind working on any project.

FS: What is the dream project you haven’t yet had time to realize?
AI: Every design project is a new challenge that has its unique characteristics and requirements. Every new project has the opportunity to be my dream design project.

FS: What is your secret recipe of success in design, what is your secret ingredient?
AI: I don't have one vision or one style. There’s no optimum solution in design but to reach excellence you have to come very flexible.

FS: Who are some other design masters and legends you get inspired from?
AI: God.

FS: What are your favorite designs by other designers, why do you like them?
AI: I like the Great Pyramid of Giza by Hemiunu (fl. 2570 BC).

FS: What is your greatest design, which aspects of that design makes you think it is great?
AI: It's difficult to pick one design and call it the greatest.

FS: How could people improve themselves to be better designers, what did you do?
AI: Let your eyes teach you.

FS: If you hadn’t become a designer, what would you have done?
AI: I'd become a film director, musician, or novelist.

FS: How do you define design, what is design for you?
AI: Everything. Everything is designed. From architecture to logos.

FS: Who helped you to reach these heights, who was your biggest supporter?
AI: My parents.

FS: What helped you to become a great designer?
AI: I like the challenges.

FS: What were the obstacles you faced before becoming a design master?
AI: I never felt I had obstacles, not because I didn't have any, of course, I did. It's because I don't care. I just move on. I don't restore these memories in my head. It's the process anyway. The process to success.
