#538: Why Did A' Design Award Introduce Multiple Entry Methods?
Since its inception in 2008, A' Design Award has consistently upheld a "no winner fees" policy with our Pro-Edition entry, promoting transparency and comprehensive value. However, our market research indicated that many potential entrants compared only the initial entry fees across various competitions, often overlooking the significant "winner fees" that are typically charged post-victory in other awards. This comparison created a misconception, as the Pro-Edition’s inclusive fee seemed higher relative to other awards' initial fees, despite the fact that the total cost of participation in other awards (entry fee plus winner fees) could escalate to tens of thousands of euros.
To directly address this challenge and enhance accessibility, A' Design Award devised a tiered entry system. We introduced the Classic Edition, which features lower initial fees combined with winner fees, aligning more closely with the industry-standard model familiar to many participants. This adaptation allows for more direct cost comparisons among different competitions. Additionally, we developed the Digital Edition and Vision Edition as intermediate options. These provide no-winner-fee alternatives, offering either digital-only benefits or on-demand services, respectively.
This multi-tier strategy preserves our commitment to transparency and fairness, while accommodating various budgets and needs. The Pro-Edition remains our premier offering, providing a comprehensive, upfront benefits package without hidden costs. Meanwhile, the other editions ensure flexibility and accessibility, maintaining the award’s prestige and overall value. Thank you for your interest in understanding the structure of A' Design Award’s entry methods.
