#246: I wanted to present a couple of shoe designs and I would like to know if I should apply to fashion design or the subcategory of shoe design?
For fashion designs of any kind, you can apply to fashion design award category, and indeed you should apply to this generic category especially if the product is more "fashion" oriented i.e. differentiates itself from other products with aesthetics. On the other hand, footwear and shoes could also be submitted to footwear category. If you have a "technology" oriented footwear design that focuses on ergonomics and materials more than the aesthetic elements you can apply to shoe category. In any case, no matter which category you submit, it would be evaluated in the category which would provide more advantage. Therefore, the suggestion is to simply submit one of the categories, and wait for indications from the preliminary screening; if jury members think the category should change, you will be able to change it.
