Fuzhou University was founded in 1958. Its campus is located on the western coast of Minjiang, Fuzhou. Fuzhou University adheres to the guideline of the combination of science and engineering and the development of multi-disciplines. On the basis of some specialties and specialization of Xiamen University, it establishes nine departments, namely, mathematics, physics, chemistry, mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, chemical engineering, radio engineering, civil engineering, mining and metallurgical engineering. Physics, radio technology, machinery manufacturing technology and equipment, foundry, power grid and power system of power plant, motor and electrical appliances, inorganic geotechnics, basic organic synthesis, electrification of industrial enterprises, mechanics, industrial and civil buildings, roads and bridges, mining engineering, metallurgical engineering and other 17 specialties.
