SpActrum Studio is a cross-discipline design & art studio founded by Yan Pan and Zhen Li. We start from our own observation and contemplation, undertake research through practice, and build up an extended critical discussion platform by publications.

Observation: Observation is the beginning of everything, which is not just a process of reflecting the outside, but a process of introjecting to the inside. Grasp a glimpse of oddness, open up a chink of ordinariness, and extend it to a breakthrough opening toward both outside and inside. This is a process of digging in and sorting out, until it has self-encouraging effects. Critical Practice: When observation and thinking reach their limits, further discussion need to be stimulated and deepened by proactive practice. Practice is not just about reaching a result, but more about a tool, a process. This is the strategy we intend to take to absorb and achieve. Publication: Publication is not about conclusion and broadcasting ideas. It’s not the end but another start, a platform of our projects and works, which enable us to externalize our thoughts and brainstorm in a more extensive scale, furthermore, to crystallize our ideology, and continue our exploration.
