Art is often about exploration, emotion, and personal or cultural expression. It asks questions, provokes thought, and invites subjective interpretation. It doesn’t need to be practical—its value can lie in how it makes you feel, what it represents, or the conversation it sparks. Art is freedom.
Design, on the other hand, is purposeful creativity. It solves problems, communicates messages, and functions within specific constraints—whether those are about usability, accessibility, aesthetics, or cultural context. Good design makes life better, easier, or more beautiful in a way that serves a goal.
From my perspective, the most exciting work happens where art and design overlap—where emotional impact meets functionality. A well-designed product, space, or interface can be beautiful and expressive, while great art can influence how we approach problem-solving or visual storytelling in design.
So to sum it up:
Art is expressive.
Design is intentional.
Both shape how we experience the world.
