STATEMENT OF ART:Design and art are both forms of expression, yet they serve different functions. Design is purposeful—it solves problems, improves experiences, and creates meaningful interactions between people and their environment. Art, on the other hand, is a reflection of thoughts, emotions, and perspectives; it is open-ended, inviting interpretation rather than demanding function. Despite their differences, both are deeply interconnected, influencing and shaping each other in powerful ways. For me, design is a tool for change. It is not merely about aesthetics but about impact—how an object, space, or system can transform behavior, challenge perspectives, and contribute to a more sustainable world. Good design is responsible; it takes into account not just human needs but also environmental and social implications. Sustainability is at the core of my design philosophy. In a world where waste and pollution threaten ecosystems, designers have a responsibility to rethink materials, production methods, and product life cycles. My work focuses on repurposing discarded materials, finding new life in what was once considered waste. Through this process, I explore the intersection of nature and human impact, using design as a medium to highlight ecological challenges and encourage sustainable practices. Art, to me, is about storytelling. While design often provides solutions, art raises questions. It prompts reflection, challenges norms, and stirs emotions. My approach to design incorporates artistic elements, using visual narratives to engage audiences and foster deeper connections with the natural world. When art and design merge, they create not just functional objects but meaningful experiences—ones that inspire action, awareness, and appreciation for the world around us. Ultimately, I believe that design should serve both people and the planet. Whether through product design, installations, or conceptual projects, my goal is to create work that resonates on multiple levels—intellectually, emotionally, and ethically. As a designer, I am not just shaping objects; I am shaping perspectives and possibilities for a more sustainable future.
