About Sepehr Sayyah : I am Sepehr Sayyah, an architect, curator, and cultural entrepreneur with broad experience in both architecture and art. As the Executive Director of Sayyah Architectural Studio and the founder of Motorkhoneh Art Gallery, I have collaborated with numerous national and international clients and artists, curating a variety of exhibitions and projects that examine the intersection of art, design, and society. My work in both architecture and art is centered around creating spaces that foster interaction, collaboration, and intellectual exchange. I am committed to promoting cultural dialogue and contributing to the growth of creative industries, both in Iran and beyond. My approach is focused on innovation and purpose, aiming to enhance both public and private experiences through thoughtful design and artistic expression. STATEMENT OF ART:Art and design, to me, are not just visual expressions or aesthetic experiences—they are deeply woven into the fabric of human existence, serving as a bridge between the inner world of individuals and the larger society they inhabit. When I think about design, I think about its role in shaping the environment around us—how it can subtly influence our behavior, thoughts, and interactions with the world. It is a tool for transformation, whether it’s a space, an object, or an idea. Design is the invisible hand that molds the physical and conceptual realms to better serve human needs, desires, and ambitions. Art, on the other hand, is not bound by the same rules as design. Art exists to provoke, to question, to transcend the mundane. It communicates emotions, challenges perceptions, and invites the viewer to connect with something beyond themselves. It holds the power to create dialogue, to reflect the times we live in, and to open the doors to new ideas. In my view, art is the essential form of communication that transcends language, culture, and time. It’s a mirror to society, reflecting its complexities, contradictions, and contradictions, while also offering a glimpse into the artist’s own psyche. For me, the intersection of design and art lies in their shared ability to engage with human experiences and to generate new ways of thinking and feeling. A space, a piece of furniture, or even an architectural structure can serve as art if it challenges conventional aesthetics and perceptions. At the same time, a work of art can become more impactful if it is designed with intention and placed in an environment that facilitates engagement, interaction, and immersion. One of my core beliefs is that the most important goal is to create a collaborative space where artistic experiences can be shared and experienced not only by artists but also by the public. It is through this exchange of perspectives, ideas, and emotions that true growth occurs—for both the artist and the viewer. I envision a space where art is not a passive encounter but an active participation in the ongoing dialogue between different minds and experiences. It’s about building bridges of understanding and allowing art to move from the canvas into the everyday lives of people. What excites me about this approach is the potential to reach a wider audience, one that might not necessarily see themselves as part of the art world but who can engage with and be touched by art nonetheless. My hope is that I can spread this perspective throughout the country, creating spaces that are not only visually stimulating but intellectually and emotionally enriching. By making art a part of life, I aim to transform everyday encounters into artistic experiences. My motto is simple: "Transform life into art." This statement encapsulates my belief that art is not a separate realm but one that can and should influence and elevate the spaces we live, work, and interact in. Design and art should not exist in isolation but be intertwined in a way that enriches the lives of all who encounter them. By creating purposeful, intentional environments that facilitate collaboration and interaction, I believe we can transform the ordinary into the extraordinary and, in the process, shape a more connected, thoughtful, and inspired world.
