About Xuanyu Wei : Xuanyu “Alfred” Wei is a designer at Diller Scofidio + Renfro (DS+R), with over four years of experience contributing to a diverse range of projects including architecture competitions, residential, hospitality, masterplans, and art installations. He played a key role in the winning design for the Pina Bausch Zentrum in Wuppertal, Germany. Currently, he is leading the design for experimental projects featured in the 2025 Venice Architecture Biennale.
Xuanyu’s work has earned multiple awards, including honorable mentions from AIA Columbus and the Architecture MasterPrize. His proposals have been shortlisted for the Kaira Looro competition and awarded second prize in a furniture design competition hosted by OMA and POST Houston. His projects have been featured in publications such as Kooz/arch, Metropolis Magazine, and Archinect. Xuanyu’s graduate thesis received William D. Darden Thesis Award. He holds a Master of Architecture degree from Rice University in Houston, TX.
