About Ching Ke Lin : Ching Ke Lin explores the relationship between humans and bamboo. His work spans installations and landscape projects, challenging conventional perceptions of bamboo craftsmanship. Lin's practice integrates natural materials with contemporary design, reflecting an observation of everyday life. He collaborates with various industries, applying his approach to diverse projects. His process involves experimentation and practice, aiming to bridge traditional techniques with modern applications. Lin's work seeks to dissolve perceived boundaries between people, materials, and time. He examines the material's historical context while developing new forms and functions. STATEMENT OF ART:“Where nature and people meet, bamboo shows endless possibilities.” Bamboo is often seen as humble, but I see it as limitless. I approach it with childlike curiosity—bending, steaming, weaving—revealing its strength, memory, and emotion. My work merges traditional Taiwanese techniques with modern design, creating large-scale installations that people can walk through and experience physically and spiritually. I place my works in public spaces—temples, parks, galleries—so that art becomes part of everyday life. Each piece explores the connection between nature, culture, and human feeling. Bamboo becomes more than a material; it becomes a language. Over the years, I’ve collaborated with global brands like UNIQLO, New Balance, Mercedes-Benz, and NOUSAKU, and created permanent works for temples such as Beigang Wude Temple and Dharma Drum Mountain. Now represented by Fremin Gallery in New York, I continue to explore how a single material can express timeless meaning in a contemporary voice.
