At 24, Shelly began her artistic journey in the United States with ice skating and dance, continuing to hone her craft after moving to Israel. She attended a prestigious art school, dedicating herself to rigorous training and winning national dance competitions, including performing at the renowned Suzan Delal Center and the Holland Dance Festival. Transitioning her artistic focus, Shelly's time as a former army medic, instructor, and commander has instilled in her a unique blend of discipline and creativity. Her travels across Australia further fueled her curiosity and passion for fashion design. Now focused on fashion design, Shelly strives to innovate and inspire, contributing to the industry with her distinctive vision.
STATEMENT OF ART:When I think about design I think about aesthetics, I think about shape and form, details, depth, lines, texture. I think if the design makes me intrigued and takes my attention. I look for a personality in the work. A personal touch. I think the design is a good one when it makes me think of it after I’ve seen it.
Design is the thoughtful and intentional creation of solutions to problems. It combines functionality with aesthetics to improve and enhance human experiences. Design is about understanding needs, envisioning possibilities, and meticulously crafting objects, spaces, and systems that fulfill those needs in an aesthetically pleasing and efficient manner.I think that art is the ability to express yourself emotionally in some way, I do think that fashion is a form of art.
Art is contained by the seven elements of lart- line, shape, form, texture, value and space. I think that the more that a fashion design, accessory or garment includes unique qualities of every aspect of the elements of art, it is more successful, interesting, strong and impacting.
