I am an architect who has been interested in design since my childhood and has been travelling and researching. Thanks to the trainings i participated so far, i try to prioritise aesthetics, functionality and minimalism in my design approach. During my design process, at first, i determine what I want to explain in the product I am going to design. Then I choose the material, colour and texture of that product. One of the most important issues here is to establish the hierarchy of materials and to choose the right point where I want to keep the focus. Finally, another important issue is to create scale and proportional values very well and to ensure the balance of the product we design. When we combine all these design principles, we can make a difference in the products we create and all these make us important and advantageous.
STATEMENT OF ART:Before designing a product, I think that the subject of design should be prepared very well. Firstly, we need to determine to whom the product we design will appeal to and what our needs are in this direction. In the meantime, we also pay attention to the design idea of the products in the collections we have already designed. If we are not going to make a product in the continuation of these collections then we create a new collection. There are various design movements we utilise the principles of. Generally, these are Modern, Rustic, Retro, Minimalist, Bohemian and Country design movements. The principles of these movements such as balance, scale, proportion, colour, texture, hierarchy and focus inspire us while creating our designs. After determining our needs, I prepare sketch drawings with the data we have and add notes to these drawings so that we can pay attention to these points before starting modelling. Then I start to research the materials that I have determined and that we use in the design. We examine the material in many ways with our design team so that it can fully match our needs. If there is no problem with the materials we have researched, we ensure the purchase of the products. Afterwards, we prepare the drawings of the product, which we handle in a versatile way in terms of size, material and design, by using various drawing and modelling programmes. We prepare technical drawings in programmes and make them ready for production. We use modelling programmes to make the product realistic in 3D version. While the realistic visuals of the product are examined in every aspect, all drawings are made and became completely ready for production. If any, we carry out the final revisions in both technical drawing and modelling. We discuss our product, which is produced and became ready, more comprehensively in our meetings. By prioritising the functionality of our product, we decide by considering all kinds of negative comments that made against our design. These are the following aspects of the product in these decisions;
*Were we able to fully respond to our list of needs that we noted before starting the design of the product?
*Is there a change on the audience you address in the design of the product?
*Is there a problem with the scale and proportion of the product, can we work on alternative measurements?
*Were we able to choose the materials we used in the product and were we able to correctly construct the hierarchy of the materials within themselves?
*Can we work the product in alternative colours and textures?
*In short, have we been able to give the focal point we want to tell in the product correctly?
All these question marks actually lead us to the highest success at the point of aesthetics and functionality of the product what we design. Because we know that it is not possible to achieve success in the product that we do not design correctly. We also attach great importance to different perspectives here. Because the difference in aesthetic perspectives gives us a great advantage and brings us to an important point in design. We consider the product we design in a multidimensional way. Because we need to maintain the balance, which is an important element of a design, on the collections we make. Of course, these are not the only points where we look at and work on, we also follow design trends frequently. These studies enable us not to design independently from trends. We especially try to use materials with new colours and textures by adapting them to our own design approach. In this way, we always try to keep our products up-to-date. Another point we give importance to, is a sustainable design approach in our products. We pay attention to this in the materials what we use and emphasise this issue. By maximising our understanding of sustainable design with the nature-friendly materials we choose, we make it one of the important elements of our design approach. In addition, we are confident that we will carry our designs to a different point with our carbon footprint reduction methods that we will use more and more over time and we carry out various studies in this field. All these points that we attach importance to us, we can see that we have come to the right place with our designs and we can see in the people who prefer and like our products.
