About ARSHIYA KAPOOR : Arshiya holds a Bachelor's degree in Fashion Design and a Postgraduate degree in Apparel Production and Merchandising Management and Master's degree in Fashion Design. With a decade of experience in the Indian fashion industry, she possesses extensive expertise in product development, garment manufacturing technology, and quality assurance. Arshiya has demonstrated exceptional leadership as Head of Technical and Quality and later as Manager of Factory Operations. She has conducted technical audits and quality analysis for esteemed brands in the UK and the USA, ensuring compliance with standards such as SA 8000 and WRAP.Currently, she is the Head of the Fashion Department at MIT Institute of Design, MIT Art, Design, and Technology University, Pune, where she has been teaching for the past decade. Her teaching portfolio includes core courses such as Design Process, Pattern Making/Draping, Construction, Quality Control, and Technical Aspects of Clothing. She also focuses on topics like Material Sustainability in Fashion and Sewing Techniques. She is Juror for Global Footwear Awards and Subject Matter Expert for Tata Consultancy. In addition to her professional commitments, Arshiya is pursuing a Ph.D. in Visual Metaphors in Design.
