Profile: Romel John Santos

About Romel John Santos : Romel has been creating art since kindergarten. His love to draw eventually lead him to various endeavors such as school exhibit designs and preparing school material for his mother who is a teacher. But in college he took engineering instead and became a licensed Civil Engineer. For a couple of years, he designed several houses for his friends using in creative knowledge and his engineering skills. In 1987, he was introduced to a Macintosh SE which triggered his interest in digital art and interactive media. After honing the skill for computer general art and interactive design, these became his main passion - creating art in the digital arena. On several occasions, he also tried painting in watercolor and oil and is also an avid fan of photography. Years later, we setup his own design company that served various companies locally and international in various fields of creative design. He closed his company in 2000 and started as a professional art director from then on. His passion for the arts has taken him to various medium of art experimenting on his skills. From illustration, painting, photography, publishing and identity design, digital art, web and mobile design. He is now experimenting on AI and if it is a viable medium for the arts.
