With a keen interest in film post-production, he established Foxter Sound Limited to continue his creative pursuits. His later feature film work, “Dust to Dust,” was nominated for Best Sound Design at the 42nd Hong Kong Film Awards. He provided sound design for the animated short film “Monsoon Blue,” which won Best Animated Short Film at the 60th Taipei Golden Horse Awards. He has over 15 years of experience in audio post-production within the film industry, working on sound design for numerous feature films, TV commercials, TV programs, and animations for various directors and agencies.
STATEMENT OF ART:My sound design philosophy emphasizes using sounds that directly relate to the visuals. I focus on recording and incorporating elements that enhance the story, rather than adding unrelated sounds. Effective storytelling is essential; every sound should support the scene’s setting, emotion, and perspective. While it’s possible to diverge from these elements, believable sound is crucial for maintaining the drama. Developing a personal aesthetic is key, as it shapes your unique style in sound design and serves as a signature touch for all your projects.
