Holding a Ph.D. in Architecture Sciences from UFRJ and boasting extensive academic experience, including teaching roles in postgraduate programs, Bel Ribeiro is recognized for her contributions to the study and preservation of cultural heritage. Her involvement in CNPq-certified research groups and participation in international events underscore her significance in both academic and professional circles. Her expertise spans architecture, interior design, and landscaping projects, with a focus on residential, corporate, commercial, and heritage spaces. The combination of her solid education, professional experience, and dedication to research and education renders her a noteworthy and respected figure in her field. When I think of design and art, I see two interrelated yet distinct disciplines. Design is often associated with practical function and problem-solving. It's the art of creating something with a specific purpose in mind, whether it's solving a usability issue, communicating a clear message, or enhancing user experience. Design encompasses a wide range of fields, from graphic and product design to interaction design and architecture. At its core, design seeks to blend aesthetics and functionality to create something that is both useful and pleasing. On the other hand, art is often viewed as a more free and subjective form of expression. It involves creating works that reflect the artist's emotions, ideas, and experiences, often without a primary concern for practical functionality. Art can take various forms, from paintings and sculptures to installations and performances, and it can evoke a wide range of emotional and intellectual responses. Despite their differences, design and art often influence each other. Many designers draw inspiration from art to create innovative and aesthetically pleasing solutions, while artists frequently explore design concepts in their works. Both fields also share fundamental principles such as composition, balance, color, and form. In summary, my perspective on design and art is that they are two distinct forms of creative expression, each with its own characteristics and goals, but they can complement and enrich each other.
