About Formota Sdn. Bhd. : We are passionate and experienced in architecture and interior space design. Throughout the 15 years design journey, we gained valuable experience in wide range of projects, including residential, offices, hospitality and commercial projects. We believe design is a process of creation; generating a design solution with idea of originality; transforming a space/ experience. The result is, a better and new lifestyle. FORM.O.T.A Founded by Tang Yong Kuan (commonly known as Y.K.) on 2017, his decision to not use his name for his architect studio was deliberate. Formota is a combination of the words “form” and “mota”. The term “form” refers to its size, shape, and material properties. It combines the architect’s design concept’s flexibility and adaptability from inside to outside, which contains, these three elements form, orientation, and sunlight (space); however, “mota” is a symbol of every beginning of a dot, gives shape to the concept of vision through drawings, and the build and designs. Y.K. chose a colloquial word that means “do” or make”. It’s a declaration of intent, but it also reflects his incredible, context-driven work, which favours simple, honest materials that age well with our climate.
